Not really a trailhead but it is definitely the start of the hike.
Parking: if you have an adventure pass then you can park close, of not then you are going to have to pack behind the gate which is 1/4 of a mile down the road.

The trailhead is easy to miss as there are no signs. But definitely noticeable if you know what to look for. Simply put, look for a mountain opening, a valley of sort on the left side. Not hard to see. Once you find it, cross the river/stream, walk into the valley and follow THAT stream up to the falls.

Hike is easy and difficult depending on the area. You might have to climb a tiny bit. Good for kids with a little supervision. I take my toddler with me all the time. He walks about 1/8 of a mile on his own but mostly in a child carrier backpack.

Go early as the valley and canyon can warm up. Easily 5*+ degrees warmer than the rest of Orange County. Bring water and snacks.

Trail itself is primarily shaded but always bring sunblock.

Depending on the water level, you might have to walk through water at some crossings or not so be prepared for that too

Beautiful trail lots of fig canopys and the calming sound of the gurgling stream and wildlife make this place truly magical . True nature in all it's wonder amongst the overly developed land in southern California

I've been in love with Holy Jim Canyon, Silverado Canyon, Modjeska Canyon, and Black Star Canyon, since I first went "off-roading,"[the best off-roading spot in OC that is. it was an absolutely magical place where you could feel like you are in the country, when in reality you're in Orange County, California, where over 33 million individuals, call there home. I absolutely would not suggest driving on the road in Holy Jim's, unless you have a truck, SUV, or some hatchbacks. If you try and take your BMW, or Benz on it, and you will come out with scratches, bare minimum.

Great experience we have an old Toyota car and we were able to make it through but we had to go really slow as it was really Rocky, and the rode to the trail is awful but we made it. We had to walk a while before we got to the actual trail and from there there was a small waterfall. Nice view of nature and it was my first time hiking not a bad route. There was a lot of small streams we had to cross, rocks to climb but very eventful

Good place to hike but the road leading to the falls is dirt road and not paved. Only SUV can access the dirt road with ease. However, we drove there in a mini van full of people so our speed was like a turtle. Remember to get your parking pass before visiting this hike as you are required to display the permit on your dashboard. The permit can be purchased at sports chalet or at the convenience store on the way to the falls.
