High-end quality and their surf shop is great.
Aloha Glassing is the only place we will take our boards. They do top quality glassing that is why the top surfboard companies keep him sooooo busy but it's definitely worth the wait.🤙
Aloha Glassing is an incredible shop! I stopped in last week to drop off a board for glassing and they are busting their tails to get back into production after an involuntary 9-month closure. This shop has always been so rad, and the craftspeople here do such amazing work. Steve has been in the business for a long time, and knows his craft inside and out. Mike Minchinton makes unbelievable shapes by hand, and is known for his balsa boards. I've never found the money to ride one, but they are beautiful and feel great in your hands. The ones I've seen were darkened with coffee, and had custom keel fins; solid balsa but nice weight. If you want a board that just looks like balsa, Rick can airbrush the best "Falsa" texture you've ever seen, or anything else you can imagine with an airbrush, so if you want a really unique board save some extra money for custom art from a legendary airbrusher. Sean McCabe works the CNC machine and can help you with digital model design or just cutting boards for a really fair price. There is often a spare room for aspiring shapers like myself to get some practice shaving foam, and I've even met some awesome shapers just hanging around the shop like Robert August, Rich Pavel, Sam Hawk, Lyle Carlson, Forrest Minchinton... the list goes on. This is a classic shop that does amazing work. Go make yourself a surfboard, or order-up a functional work of art.
