Carmelita's Méxican Restaurant

Decent family owned Mexican cantina with sit down comfort food.

Chips and salsa included in the orders is always a nice touch! They also serve a refried black bean dip with the chips that isn't too bad either.

They have a combination special for a decent deal here so check it out if you get the chance.

Located in old Roseville so parking can be a little tricky.

First off, Carmelita’s has a great black bean dip that is nothing short of fantastic. It isn’t watered down like many others serving bean dip and chips. If there is chicken mole enchiladas on the menu I will order as like to compare my favorite dish. The verdict is in and to my judgement Carmelita’s makes the best I have tasted to date. There is a perfect blend of spices that finishes with a strong hint of chocolate, is was simply amazing. I recently tried the same meal at another local Mexican restaurant and Carmelita’s was still the best hands down. I will have to try a few other dishes on my next visit, but for now I strongly recommend the chicken mole enchiladas. I went back this week and had the chicken mole enchiladas again, yes they are still the best

2 of my girlfriends and I went to Carmelita’s tonight for dinner, it was a first time visit for all of us. The building itself is really cute and in the older part of Roseville. We found street parking about a block and a half away from the restaurant and didn’t mind that. We were able to walk in and ask for a table and were seated immediately. Their menu is pretty straight forward and not to frilly which made it easier for me to decide what I wanted, they had a big drink menu and their drinks sounded delicious. I was the DD tonight, so I didn’t have one. (For sure next time!) Don’t get me wrong we had good servers, unfortunately I just think they were stretched a bit thin and understaffed. But we were enjoying our food and talking so it wasn’t a big deal for us. We started off with the Queso Fundido as an appetizer along with the chips salsa and refried black beans they start you off with. WOW those beans were delicious and so were the chips. The Fundido was also good from what my friends said, very cheesy!! At our table we had the Grilled Vegetable Fajitas, Steak Fajitas and a Chicken Chimichanga. Everything came out hot and smelled delicious! Their regular refried beans that come with your food are so tasty and flavorful, I really enjoyed them along with the rice. My friend did say her steak was cooked fine, but the meat itself lacked some flavor. My other friend said the Chicken Chimichanga was really good and it was huge, they serve big plates here and we all left with a togo box. We also shared a dessert, the Churros and Ice Cream, they didn’t disappoint, I usually don’t care for filled Churros but they were yummy! And the Vanilla Ice Cream hit the spot! I did order one dinner togo as well the Pork Chili Verde and that was a WINNER!! So flavorful and fresh tasting, it was really good, I would definitely order again. All in all I would visit again, the food was good, the atmosphere is small, but cozy and the service was fine. Thanks for a full belly tonight Carmelita’s!

First time there if you are in the Roseville area this is a place to go great restaurant Atmosphere they were short handed They will give you. Chips with beans and salsa dip as a starter delicious we have to come back to try new dishes and margaritas

Great Mexican restaurant. If you like burritos, fajitas or tacos this is definitely your place.

All the food was seriously amazing. The carnitas were to die for and the mashed beans were also top notch.
It is a bit expensive but the portions are quite generous, so there's enough food in one order to feed two people (and you can definitely share a dish).

Everyone was very friendly and again, our food was absolutely delicious. The woman that served us was very very nice. I'll definitely come back.

Recomiendo este sitio a cualquiera que le guste disfrutar de buena comida con un staff muy agradable y atento. Nunca en la vida probé carnitas o frijoles tan sabrosos.
