The Santa Margarita Ecological Reserve (SMER) in southern Temecula is managed by San Diego State University as a critical wildlife corridor, sacred ground for the indigenous people who lived here previously and a field site for the SDSU students and researchers who study its fragile ecosystems. It’s a shame they destroyed the fragile wildlife and beauty by putting commercial solar panels up sell make a dollar. It’s a shame they block it of to to public to enjoy so it won’t be disturbed but then they bulldoze and destroy they riparian landscape. They turned the roads into an expressway for tractor trailer Riggs bringing truck loads of solar panels into residential roads maintained by the locals thru the DeLuz Community Services District who has not did a thing to stop or be compensated for the over tonnage semi trucks disturbing a rural residential neighborhood. I want to thank Pablo the manager of the SMER who was so kind to put up traffic signs to slow down the trucks that would barrel thru here to protect the children that play on the roads. He was very attentive and made a miserable experience a little tolerable. I big project like this should have never happened on a sleepy little dead end road to their supposed Ecological Paradise.
