It really is like going to your love ones home for a visit. The young ladies that work there are so patient and attentive to all of the residents. I can not say enough for what they have done for my mom. We transferred my mom to Magnolia from a larger facility and the benefits of that move were almost instantaneous. She's not as anxious or overwhelmed with the daily interaction. Her meal intake has improved. She always looks great (she's beautiful anyway) and since being at Magnolia my mom has actually started laughing again. The one-on-one care she receives at Magnolia has definitely revitalized her. This place has been a God sent place for my mom. It is absolutely the model for how a Board and Care should operate. Thank you, Mark, Tamera and staff for what you do for my mom in a daily basis. “My mother has been a resident at Temeku Hills Assisted Living for 3 years now. I have researched other board and care facilities and can assure you these owners really care about the residents. At Temeku Hills Assisted Living residents live in a very spacious one story home that is immaculately clean. The common area is very large and leaves opportunity for conversation and interaction even if the television is on. My mother has been in a shared room which is very large compared to all the other shared rooms I have seen. The corridors are wide, and the main bathroom is especially large. There is a nice backyard where my mom often likes to sit in the sun. In addition to the physical amenities, the quality of care is exceptional. My mother needs a lot of medications and semi-frequent doctor visits and the staff are on top of changes to her medications and accommodating to whatever doctor schedule I make. Many times the owner accompanies us or takes my mother alone to her doctor appointments. On a few occasions my mother needed to take an ambulance to the hospital and the owner usually went with her. I am never worried that my mother is not getting the best medical attention here. This is the only facility I know of that has semi-monthly barbecue type events for the residents and their families. It is nice to meet family members of my mother's friends at her home. We also enjoy getting to know these “friends” at these events. The food is exceptional, too! When possible, the staff at Temeku Hills Assisted Living takes my mother and others who are mobile to special places like a winery, to a restaurant, or even the Zoo or SeaWorld. As always, family members are invited. There are two caregivers at the home at all times and they prepare great meals. My mother suffers from a few ailments, one being type II diabetes. Thanks to a controlled diet of healthy (and tasty) meals she has received here, she no longer needs insulin shots, nor does she need to check her blood sugar. In the two cared-for facilities she was in previously, this was not the case. She also awakens often at night, and the staff is continuously accommodating. Birthdays are always celebrated as are other holidays including Halloween and the 4th of July. As I stated before, I have toured nearly a dozen other facilities, and my mother has stayed at others in another area and I personally feel this is the best facility I've seen. The owner is often at the premises, and always accessible by phone or email. This place is professional, clean, and welcoming. ”
