There are so many great access points here! My kids always want to spend hours here just exploring, swimming and hanging out. We got the county park pass and definitely find it to be worth it!
Water is always nice and cold, clean, and it's not that deep my kids love coming here. Not alot of people so you don't have to worry about crowding
Beautiful nature area with tons of trails. It's not hard to find solitude if you're willing to walk a bit. Lots of rattlesnakes so be aware, and remember to leave no trace!
Update 6/19/22: SO MUCH GARAGE. Spent an hour and a half cleaning up and got over twenty pounds of garbage. Please please please pick up after yourselves! Especially looking at you, cigarette smokers.
This is a beautiful place to go for a walk, get out of your head and enjoy nature. It’s a great place to get down to the river and walk along the shore. I love the sound of the water and there are many types of birds and other wildlife.
The main dirt trail is well marked and you can also walk on the paved AMERICAN RIVER TRAIL as well. I felt safe walking here alone. You’ll see a few people here and there fishing, riding bikes, hiking or just enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
A great place to go in the spring time in Sacramento!
I really like this place. Plenty of room for large gatherings and lots of big shade trees. I hope the grass will be fully green again after our water crisis is resolved. There are public restrooms and lots of tables. River access is easy and a short walk over a bridge gives you wonderful views of the River and banks. Kids love it with the wide open areas to run. Groups are welcomed as seen in the photos of a Trike Club out for a ride. My only concern is the few homeless folks that mill around the fringe of the park.
