Fun and easy nature trails. Nice little indigenous town where you can learn about the indigenous people in the area
Cool local spot for some nature by the river. We’ve seen deer, turkeys, salmon. Parking lot is small but I usually go during the week anyways. If you want to go regularly, just buy the county park pass for $50 so you don’t have to pay the $5 parking fee each time.
Must be very careful to see the snakes. But other things are very interesting. Close to American river, where you can raft on 3-12 seats boats . Wondering
Everyone in the visitor center were so welcoming and informative. They even made sure my grandson was able to get a good look at the raptor before putting it away for the night, beautiful.
Great place for a walk! Lots of easy, well maintained trails that lead to the river. A great visitor's center with friendly docents and fun stuff to explore. Tons of wildlife sightings - we saw lots of deer, turkeys, rabbits. $5 county park access fee if you drive in, worth it for a day hike with ample parking. Multiple lots ensure access, even if you have to park a little further from the visitor's center. Horse accessible, so we saw lots of people riding, too.
