  Absolutely the best curly hair salon! Sherry is fabulously kind person and did an AMAZING job beautifying my locks! I started my curly hair journey several years ago in SF - I have tight coily hair. The stylists in sac were almost non existent or just not a good fit about 6 years ago. Over the years I became very loyal to two different stylists which suited me well, but each time a stylist left the business for a new trade (or like my last was on extended leave, never to return) I panicked!!
  
  Sherry was booked several months out when scheduling my first visit, which was fine because for me this was an indication of client retention. Sherry took time getting to know my hair, what I wanted/needed. I thought I had my curly girl routine down pat until I met Sherry. She provided education for best practice care techniques and products, and did NOT try to upsell except for the products we both agreed I needed. She cleared up misceptions about my curly hair routine, and I am happy to say I am able to have well defined, shiny curls with VERY little product use now. Sherry gave me beautiful highlights and a dusting and it came out wonderfully PERFECT!! This is the stylist I am willing to grow old with and I've never quit Straight Up Curls!

  I am a new client as of December 2021. I am so happy I found Sherry during a Google search for natural hairstylist. I dread 😬 dealing with my hair and have been this way for years. I tried many different styles and solutions from straightening, braiding, and weaving to eventually just hiding my hair under beanies, hats and caps. The neglect has resulted in my hair becoming unhealthy (dull, dry, no new growth, lacking nutrients) and the excessive use of shea butter, coconut, Moroccan… you name it oils and products did nothing.
  
  I finally went through a process that has my hair looking and feeling like it hasn’t felt in years. Sherry is very passionate about what she does and it shows. I appreciated her taking the time to teach and educate me on the benefits of a gentle touch and having patience with my hair. I look forward to this new journey of rocking the natural curls.

  Sherry helped me love my curls! Her method has made my curls predictable, healthy, and improved my curl pattern. She is amazing!! I wish I had found her years ago! She is a true curl expert and knows tricks most curly professionals do not. I highly recommend her!!

  I made the transition from relaxed to natural hair about 3-4 years ago. In the process I have leaned so much but it wasn’t until I met Sherry that I truly gained the knowledge necessary to understand my hair and help it thrive. My hair was maltreated and dehydrated. She put me on a detox regime that brought so much life back into it. Not only that, but after nourishing my hair she gave me the most perfect cut for my face. My hair feels full alive, it’s thriving and growing rapidly. An added bonus: this women is so easy to talk to and beyond wise. I highly recommend her for any and all of your hair needs.
