Springboard made the whole process very easy. Thank you
My experience as a seller with John and Cory was top notch. Two buyers were presented quickly and I met with them in person. One of them purchased my route and funds were paid as stated in the contract. Buyer is great and I refer him service pools and I take care of most of his customer's repair needs. A huge win-win!
I totally recommend Springboard if you need to buy or sell a pool route.
I can't believe no one has wrote a review about these guys yet. I wouldn't bother but any one reading this should know this is a great company to begin your pool route with. I left my accounting job to clean pools about 5 years ago when I bought a route through them. It was as advertised the transition was very smooth and comfortable and they held my hand through any insecurities I had. The guarantees and training and escrow and contracts they provided all gave me the security I needed to make the leap.
Regarding Texas Routes: I would say that you should buy a route from a seller who is already charging sales tax. You want to buy from someone who is running their route like a business. Not including sales tax is only a symptom of a deeper problem (under priced repairs, under valued service, poor professionalism, too much buddy/buddy customer interaction, free stuff... you get the idea, you want a business). Also, a full service account should average more than 130/month. Any less than 130/month is possibly indicative of a cheap customer base... cheap customers are not fun.
Those warnings do not come from my experience with Spring Board but I have purchased a few other routes with friends not through Spring Board and have come to that conclusion.
With a new truck payment, car insurance, liability insurance, phone, gas, all in you can expect to take home about 85% of the asking price which should be 12x the monthly billings. That's my personal experience at least.
John Hawk is very responsive and helpful.
This was a good life choice. Pools are what they are, there is no glamour but I worked 30-35 hours a week after the initial learning curve and made $70k a year with my first route. You are in the weather and some days are bad but if being behind a desk isn't for you then this is.
