Origin Church

My repentance, my baptism, my heart to serve, all started here, at Origin. :) There's never a day in the week that goes by and I don't say "I can't wait till Sunday."

I'll attempt to be brief, but I could write a novel on why I love Origin Church! Mostly, I appreciate the dedication to: the solid preaching of the Bible, the rich heart of worship, the value placed on children, and the way my family is loved so well.

When we moved to the Roseville area, my husband & I knew we wanted Word-rich messages (as opposed to topical sermons with Bible verses sprinkled in here & there.) I love how the sermons- usually given by Pastor Mark South- dig deep into the text of the Bible, often leaving me wishing my mind could hold more info.

The majority of the corporate worship songs occur after the preaching. I love this approach, as my heart is ready & able to respond to what the Lord has just revealed through the Word, and I am given the opportunity to do so through the singing of worship songs. (Also, there are a TON of gifted musicians here!)

Having young kiddos, I greatly appreciate that Origin Church values children. My kids are hearing Gospel-centered teachings each week and are undoubtedly loved.

Since we're not from the area, it has been important to me that we find a community of people who love Jesus and can love my family through the ups and downs of life. At Origin, I have friends who have laughed with me, cried with me, prayed for me, and lovingly corrected me...where I come from, that's called family.

Origin has been our church family since late 2013. We have grown under both the consistent and faithful expository and gospel-centered preaching of Mark South, and in community with those in our local mission-focused small group community. In an age that still seems to value programs galore and a bread a circus Sunday morning presentation, my wife and I find Origin's first-century church life approach more than refreshing, but life-giving and vital for growing as a disciple of Christ who makes other disciples. And this isn't at the expense of other helpful ministries within the church, such as a weekly women's Bible study and occasional events for the men. I would highly recommend you come visit us on Sunday morning at 10:00 to see if this is the church to which God might be calling you.

I love this church. The vision of Making Much of Jesus is being lived out, not only on the stage but in the small groups and individually. The church is also active in the community through Origin Coffee and The Grace City Center. The one thing you won't find here is self-help. The preaching consistently brings you back to Jesus as your only hope and greatest treasure.

5 Stars (6 if i could)! Origin has been our home now for almost 2 years and we are here to stay. I feel Christ's love for me through this church in every area of it's ministry. I have been encouraged through the ministry at Origin to make much of Jesus in my life, marriage and work and I see God making me more into the image of His Son in all of these area's. Origin's Gospel centered and Biblically based ministry is being used by God to transform lives in Roseville and the sacramento region to the glory of God.
