It is an amazing place to go learn how to survive in the wilderness. We got to rock climb, do archery, and build shelter on our own. The weather there is amazing due to the amazing snow. We get to learn about the night life and the wilderness that lurks in the woods. We were allowed to hold snakes. If you are looking to have fun I strongly recommend this place.

Principal and staff are professional, well trained and love the kids! This is by far the very best camp we have been to and I have attended many of the OC ODE offered camps in my 15 years in 5th grade. This private camps surpasses them all!

We've been taking our 6th graders to Camp High Trails for several years and we appreciate all the programs and accommodations they have to offer. Days are filled with outdoor as well as indoor activities and students are engaged and excited. There is no down time for the students. It's a great experience for them and for the teachers. Did I mention teachers get their own cabin? We are looking forward to going to Camp High Trails again next year.

High Trails offers a great Outdoor Science curriculum that is engaging and encouraging to students. I *LOVE* that the instructors all have lesson plans and that they follow them. This was something missing from other outdoor science camps.

I also appreciate that the student's schedule is full of interesting activities - no "teacher time" where I have to come up with something for the students to do for an extended period of time.

Finally, I have to say that the High Trails experience is very affordable. With their variable pricing structure and 3, 4, and 5 day options, there is something for virtually every school's budgetary needs. The program offered is taylor-fit to which ever duration you choose and it never feels like you're "missing out" if you choose a shorter stay.

I would highly recommend High Trails to any school looking for a valuable, educationally-based outdoor science experience. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the accommodations are "campy and rustic" and the curriculum your students will receive is well-planned and follows lesson plans designed to maximize student learning.

Not only have I brought many fifth and sixth grade students to High Trails as a classroom teacher, but I was fortunate enough to have both of my children attend High Trails with their elementary school.
At High Trails, my classroom students were engaged academically in an environment that was encouraging and supportive. Students truly spent the day "outdoors" experiencing activities in the forest that cannot be provided in a traditional classroom. With appropriate communication with High Trails staff before our visit, our students with "special needs" were cared for and accommodated.
My own children attended High Trails with their classroom teachers and enjoyed their week with friends in the cabins and in the forest. Our son especially enjoyed the climbing wall! As a parent, I did not hesitate to have our second child attend High Trails when the opportunity arose due to the safe, caring, and engaging environment provided.
