We went up to Forest Falls and ended up at this trailhead. Parking is right infront of the trail. I took my 89 year old mom and 2 small dogs for a short walk up this trail. I wasn't prepared for a hike. We didn't go very far up this trail but as u can see it was beautiful omg gorgeous blue sky. 💙 and I got some great photos. I put one on my Facebook for the backdrop photo. We plan on going back again with the right shoes and walking sticks for my mom. A super time. We met some really nice people and dogs on the trail.
Nice hike up Mt. San Georgino. Enjoyed the beautiful mountain scenery, nature sounds, and mostly Waterfall from Big Falls.
Very scenic trail! Be warned, the first climb is no joke, about a 1000 ft in about a mile, the switchbacks are steep! Easy to follow, very small parking lot at trailhead, but a bigger one a few yards away. Be bear aware in the parking lot, don't leave food or food trash in your car, a bear can smell it and may try to investigate looking for an easy meal. No cell service so ensure you download your map and directions ahead of time.
This hike was awesome. We stopped by the waterfalls before starting our hike. We weren't able to see all the waterfalls because the trail was closed due to too many people getting injured. We met a Ranger on our way to the trail Mr. Fisher. He was really helpful answering our questions and even helping us cross the creek. We went up the trail for a mile and we stopped by a creek to eat some snacks. We didn't go any further because Ranger Fisher warned us about excessive snow that could go up to your hips. We went back to the parking lot and had lunch. The have tables and grills there. Over all it was an amazing hike lots to see.
Excellent way to summit San Gorgonio. About 17 miles round trip via this trail head. Steady gain, but so worth the effort. You will need to fill out a Wilderness Permit (very simple, free form) to complete the hike to the summit.
