Beautiful path, with lots of wild flowers. Saw 2 snakes. I dont know what kind, may have been a rattle snake. Hissed a little but coiled off my path. My dog was undeterred.
It's a beautiful trail, but it's rated easy and I'd say it's moderate at best!
It's a beautiful trail, especially with the all of the dreaded water that has been falling from the sky recently. Trail is very buff, with a complete lack of technicality. It's at sea-levelish, which means easy climbs for those of those from higher up. Even without that advantage, it's still easy climbing. It's twisty and fun, and an absolute blast on a cross/Gravel bike.
Great trail right in the middle of town. Beautiful views. The down is fast and a little hectic. But the up is glorious.
This is a great trail for just walking, running and mountain biking. I accessed the main trail from a small road that is paved which leads up to a black large gate with an open section.
The road can he found near the tennis courts and the track/soccer field at Crafton Hills College. You will know you are on the correct path if you see solar panels on each side and a water tank near the beginning of the dirt trail. You will go around another smaller gate and this is where the dirt trail begins. This is the South West entrance.
There are other ways to access these trails but I have never tried the other routes. I walked almost to the top in rain during winter storms so it was a little muddy in sections but I really enjoyed it.
On a day like this I encountered only a few guys on bikes and a couple of joggers. And two coyotes that were ahead of me about 75 yards. They kept stopping and looking at me. It was funny!
