“The Gaskill Brothers Stone Store Museum in Campo, CA, is a unique and interesting museum that offers visitors a glimpse into the history of the area. The museum is housed in a historic building that was once a general store and post office, and it has been lovingly restored to its former glory. Inside, visitors can explore a wide range of exhibits that showcase the history of the area and the role that the Gaskill Brothers played in the development of Campo. One of the highlights of the museum is the extensive collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the 19th and 20th centuries. It was fascinating to learn about the lives of the pioneers who first settled in the area and the challenges they faced. In addition to the historic exhibits, there are also displays about the natural history of the area, including the local flora and fauna. The museum has done an excellent job of presenting the information in an engaging and interactive way, making it accessible and interesting for visitors of all ages. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Gaskill Brothers Stone Store Museum in Campo, CA. It is a must-see attraction for history buffs, and even those who aren't typically interested in history will find something to enjoy here. The museum is well worth the visit, and I look forward to visiting again in the future. Enjoy!”

Pacific Southwest Railway Museum

Address: 750 Depot St, Campo, CA 91906, USA

“Very unusual and fun experience. About an hour’s drive from San Diego. Trains inside and outside, some quite rare. Some are also in a state of neglect. Interesting nevertheless. There is a relatively inexpensive train ride that rides along the countryside to about a couple of miles from the border, and then back. Total45 mins. And yes you can see the wall quite clearly. I recommend sitting in the rear car since that way you can actually see out the back door. There is a chance to ride in the locomotive with the engineer as well. Nothing like this for a photo op for the train/history and photography buff! Some spectacular views of the “Wild West”,especially if you go after the rain, when it’s green. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and there on a volunteer basis.”

“If you love rusty old vehicles this is for you. Some of the vehicles here are 100+ years old. Photographers heaven. They do occasional Sunday night star shoots. The owner/docent was very friendly. It can be very hot, dress and prepare accordingly. Keep your eyes open for wildlife, including bees and rattlesnakes.”
