There's ACRES of strawberries and they provide you with cups and scissors so you can pick them up yourself. It was a beautiful almost Spring weather Sunday and oh so much enjoyment watching the kiddos learn the Farming culture and respect for the labor! Best part, eating them! I swear these are the strawberries they use for pies and syrups because they were the sweetest!! Stop reading and go pick your strawberries!
The strawberries here are so perfect, fresh, and delicious that it's UNREAL. THEY ARE SO GOOD. We drive way out of our way to come here every week during the strawberry season. On top of strawberries, they've started offering other items like other produce, fresh salsa, ice cream, and eggs.
Depending on the time of year, they also offer u-pick strawberries or family activities like mazes and a pumpkin patch.
This place was very expensive, especially considering that you're doing all of the labor of picking the berries yourself. However, it is still worth going if your goal is to pay for the experience of getting to pick your own berries. Also, the quality is very good since they are perfectly fresh. However, I didn't notice a significant difference between the ones that I picked myself and the ones that they had already picked and had available for sale in boxes. We did notice several families with small children who seemed to love it. The rows of berries are actually fairly small, so children probably fare better than adults. Overall I was pleased, but that is largely due to the fact that we stopped on a whim and it was exciting for that reason. I don't think that I would have enjoyed it if I had planned to make a special trip just for this. It's also pretty exposed, so if you plan to spend a long time out picking, you'll want to bring some sort of sun protection if it's a very bright day. Also, all of the pathways are in the mud. It was completely fine when we went, but I would strongly advise against going immediately after any rain at all.
Picking your own strawberries (you can buy direct as well) is amazing. Dont know what took me so long to do so. My kids had a blast!! Best 20.00 for the 3 of us I have spent in a long time.
Friendly Staff and Concessions. Although very busy, keep in mind that the lines move fairly fast. The Strawberry Patch is a happy place to be. You'll have been given scissors when you purchase your bucket, so it makes picking a lot easier. The kids love cutting. We did the Strawberries first, then the Sunflower Maze. Correction, we got Cotton Candy first.
Enjoy yourselves!
