  Perhaps one of the best-kept secrets in Carlsbad, this dentist does things the right way. Careful, courteous, respectful, positive staff that understands patients have sensitive gums and teeth. They are also straight with you on costs, care, dental hygiene habits, and are straightforward in a respectful manner. They value their own time as well as yours, are good communicators about appointments and if open appointments arise. They also don't oversell. They take Delta Dental insurance and the introductory visit was not a penny overcharged. The wait was long to get an appointment here, and i can see why. They can afford to be picky with patients. Good luck finding a better dentist post-Covid in Carlsbad, or all SD county. Way to go, CCD!

  I have been going to Carlsbad coastal dental for more than 10 years and I love this place. The technology, the expertise, the customer service is always better than expected. Everything is well explained and Dr. Thylin is so honest with our family's care. We schedule our whole family together and make it a dental day. They are very accommodating and I know it's really hard to get on the schedule but that's because they are awesome and in high demand so availability is limited. The office is extremely thoughtful of its patients. We get hand written mailed cards for all occasions and most recently I scheduled a teeth whitening because we're getting married November. Just 2 days later there's a card in the mail from the entire office congratulating us. It's so meaningful and appreciated to have our dentist do that! If you're able to use Carlsbad Coastal Dental I highly recommend them.

  Almost identical to the post below- there are plenty of dentists closer but I drive an hour and a half round trip just to go here! Rachel is an incredibly patient and kind hygienist who fully explains everything she is doing so you’re completely comfortable. Dr. T is also very kind and clearly explains your options for anything you may need done. LOVE this place!!

  This dental team is impressive to say the least. From the front office professionalism and efficiency to my hygienist it's an A+.
  I liked the dentists approach to solutions and procedures. This is probably my 5th dental firm in 50 plus years across 4 states and I like what I am experiencing.

  Rachel and Dr T are incredible! I drive 45 minutes just to go see them and over the years, many of my friends have started to make the journey as well. They are honest and focused on YOUR health and comfort. After having many dentists try to say I have cavities that need filling or fillings that need to be replaced, I am happy to go to a dentist where I know that if they say it needs to be done, then it does (surprise, I only needed 1!). Rachel has such a passion for her patients and their gums; she welcomes you with her signature excitement and stoke while making you comfortable during cleanings. It is always a pleasure to go see the Carlsbad Coastal Dental team!
