“Love love love this place. Quality items, reasonably price, and everyone is just so kind. It's owned by the most beautiful newlywed couple. They're also very quick. I waited less than I wait at a starbucks drive-thru. Definitely will return.”

“The food was decent. They certainly have good fish. French fries were also quite good. I felt the salmon tacos were a bit dry. Their poke was flavored perfectly. As for the burrito, it had too much rice and beans. The fish inside it was good but the bland rice and beans held it back. I suggest not getting a burrito here. I bet their fish and chips are amazing but I did not try them.”

“Awesome and definitely worth a stop and try, and then repeat! Small location but packs a big flavor. Helpful and attentive staff and amazing food. Asked for spicy and they did not disappoint, it was the spiciest poke I have had but some of the most delicious!”

“We recently had lunch here. The place is huge, with multiple seating options. Indoors outdoors, in the back, in the front, seats with cushions and pillows. The food was really good. We asked the staff on recommends and they suggest taco and mussels. So we tried both and both were amazing. We loved the vibe of the place and the staff were sweet. The service was quick. I highly recommend the mussels, it was so simple and yummy!”

“I had a meeting in Carlsbad and on the way back I had to stop here. One to grab their many wonderful coffee beans and also a pumpkin seed muffin and a cappuccino. Their croissants are my mom’s favorite in town. The location is so precious. Kinda hidden but with a beautiful ocean view from the top of the hill. I mean, what else can I ask for? Coffee + View! You can also bring your computer and work from one of their many outdoor tables.”

“Nectarine Grove is a favorite. Almost everything, if not everything, on the menu, is gluten free. They have a wide variety of food options and everything I’ve ordered here tastes delicious! One of the few restaurants around that also does not cook with seed oils! Chicken and Waffles (The chicken is plantain crusted!) , Breakfast Tacos, Chimichurri Steak Bowl, & the Pizzas are a handful of personal favorites. They have a cooler full of rotating desserts that are all really tasty as well. The staff is friendly and attentive. Many of them have actually become friends over the years. They also stock a large selection and variety of drinks. From coffees, to beer and kombuchas, and specialty drink choices. Though I usually stick with the free water. Stoked to have Nectarine Grove in San Diego. We need more restaurants that cook with real butter, coconut oil, and quality whole food ingredients. It’s fairly easy to spend $20-$30 here per person, but I always leave feeling like it was well worth it, & satisfied!”

“As advertised beer and kitchen. Beers were diverse and well valued. Their kitchen speciallizes in sausages, but has other stuff too. Being able to have a Belgium Tripel and saurkraut'ed Bratwurst simultaneously in heart of Encinitas was a treat. I missed the bulk of it, but seems to have a good trivia night too (not sure of day). Place could use a good deep cleaning as I won't go into too many details. Staff attention drifts away as night progresses and beers consumed. But otherwise, a fun and solid experience. I'll be back.”

“My drink... Cloudy with A Chance of Cold Brew...A. FRIGGIN. MAZING!!! The absolute best drink ever!!! I love Nitro Cold Brew & Cold Brew, & seek it in my travels. This drink, here, was the absolute best ever! The presentation!!! 5*****! My only complaint... The customer service... Please wait on your customers in order of when they purchased.... We waited and waited and waited for our drinks .. While multiple customers came & went with their drinks in hand. Not acceptable.”

“Nice inviting vibe to the place. Outdoors and indoors seating was available. We sat inside as it was a bit warm outdoors. The burger and fries were great tasting. We got two patties on the burger. The patties and fries had a good taste and texture. Did not miss the bun! A decent selection of beers was around as well.”

“What an amazing burger! As a chef I’m looking for flavor and this one hit the spot right away! Great flavor great texture all the way through. I can taste the burger and it’s crisp edges really hit the spot. The cheese came through as did the sauce. The bun is amazing! The best part is the service to do yourself a favor and go get treated well here. Chef Tim”

“My workplace always orders this pizza for larger celebrations. Obviously their Chicago Styled Deep Dish pizza is the main attraction but also the Thin Crust pizza holds its own as well. They also have wings which is solid. It’s also really nice that Rosati’s sells bottles of Giardiniera which pairs everything perfectly”

“Did I expect to have a bowl of birria while filling up my gas tank? No. But hey that's how a free man rolls. Got the 32 ounce consome plus the fixings and tortillas plus birria taco and a Jamaica with tip 20 bucks. Come on fellas. Can't go wrong. Delicious and way more than I could finish so I took the rest and screw it, headed to the beach.”

“I really wanted to give this restaurant 5 stars, but as time passed and going through the different courses of our dinner, it went a bit downhill. First, on a positive note: this restaurant is really chic with a beautiful view of the ocean and friendly staff. Appetizers and drinks were good enough to keep them at 5 stars. However, main dishes started to make this questionable. Scallops were great but the rest were so-so. While the dishes were well plated and colorful, synergy between the ingredients was missing! The deal breaker was the dessert!!! Again, well presented but man it was bad. It’s really hard to get a dessert this bad. The chocolate desert was bland and the tres leches was BAD (how could you?!). This restaurant definitely has potential but they need to rethink their menu with food that deserves the great ambience. Maybe next time will limit our visit to just drinks and appetizers ;)”

“Awesome restaurant for fast casual tacos! The ingredients were so fresh, and we enjoyed our tacos (land and sea, chicken, shrimp). The atmosphere had a relaxing vibe with open air seating. I loved that there was a kids menu and a broad selection of local beers. It was a perfect lunch spot.”
Address: 101 N Coast Hwy 101, Encinitas, CA 92024, USA
“Enjoyed this casual restaurant. There are QR codes at each table and you simply scan, order and pay on your phone. Service is friendly and efficient. I tried the smashed salmon and broccoli. Enjoyed both- they had nice flavors but a bit too much oil for my liking. My partner had the brisket and Brussels sprouts. He absolutely loved both. Not too many vegan options. Some indoor and outdoor seating”

“When ever I go surfing nearby i always get pipes after. The food is very large for a good price. They have a coffee bar. And lots of seating. It can get packed at times but it is always worth the wait. I got the Big Breakfast w/ French toast. It comes with three eggs, two pieces of bacon, two pieces of toast, potatoes and two pieces of french toast. 5 starts, would recommend.”

“Mexico Viejo is an awesome gem among the sea of many taco shops here in San Diego. It doesn't particularly stand out in any one item/ dish, but what it does do is provide a lot of value for your hard earned dollar. There is however, one stand out item that I firmly believe should be a measuring stick for all taco shops which is their salsa. If the salsa is terrible or rather bland, I feel it sets the tone for the rest of your meal. Here at Mexico Viejo they do not disappoint, especially their red roja salsa. It is nice and picante with quite a bit of heat. And I do love my heat. For the value meal that will fill you up go for the bean and cheese burrito and some rice inside the burrito. If you're looking for something. Crunchy with also added value. Give the five roll tacos a shot. They used to be five bucks but due to COVID and all of its fall out the prices have gone up. Just a tad. All in all, Mexico Viejo is a solid value with good taste. I'm sure you will find something to your liking and not break the bank”

“Yessss finally found our pizza joint. We moved to the area 6 months ago and have been methodically trying every pizza place. Pizzaiolo is the one :) Great NY style thin crust. Cool no-frills spot, friendly service. We are your newest regulars.”

“Had a nice dinner here and would return for a special occasion. Good: - surprisingly generous entree portions (this is what will be remembered!) - excellent food - diverse, interesting wine list Not Great: - uncomfortable stools a the communal table (I know space might be limited around there, but the stools are just too uncomfortable to have dinner at) - wine glasses are either the same or similar to stout water glasses. I know these are probably much durable and easy to clean but they significantly degrade the experience (glass shape impacts taste/aroma)”
