Cougar Pass Trailhead

Great place to take a Sunday hike

Another great hike! Took Cougar Ridge out to Boulder loop then to Daley Ranch. Then back through Jack Meadow Creek unfortunately on the not so pleasant side the other side has more shade so my friend says as we're roasting in the sun, skin getting that chicharrone look. At last Hidden Springs trail to the last half of Engleman loop. Definitely want to bring good cover plenty of water I can't stress that enough. Very important to keep hydrated if you can carry a pack throw in a Gatorade it helps a lot! It is very hot out there especially now in summer gotta have sunscreen, or long sleeved shirt and a hat. You may think you look silly but you'll be glad your wearing it by the end of the hike. Bring snacks if possible or sandwiches pb&js are great and maybe some fruit especially if you are going out on a long hike. You will eventually work up an appetite. If your a hiking enthusiasts would highly recommend. There's wild life I'm sure just didn't see any, lots of bugs and there little friends. Daley Ranch is a must stop there is also what used to be a little town Blacksmith shop with old farming equipment, General store? What ever you can imagine it's a great place to take a break & there are facilities available bathrooms, water fountain. You should stop and take a look at the ranch house if it's open. Great place to check out and relax for a few. If you're into short hikes there are different loops depending on how far you want to go out. Grab a map at the trailhead, trails are well marked. Hard to find, but really nice trails and views

Excellent trailhead parking and excellent trail. I love Daley Ranch!!

Nice, lightly used hiking trail which allows dogs on leash. Much of the first few miles of trail is oak lined. There are some beautiful views once you get higher on the trail, which loops around giving miles of hiking.
