Great People the best Library in the best town .
The Julian Public Library is a special gem! The librarians here provide services that create a feeling of belonging to this unique community. I look forward to finding something new with each visit. I am surprised to find the latest recommendations on the shelf and I was able to research a recent trip with many options to choose from. I highly recommend exploring all that this local library offers for back country living. Thank you!
It is a center of the Julian community, and a lovely architectural accomplishment too. San Diego County has really nice libraries, great staff, good programs. We are lucky that way. Also many people depend on and appreciate that there is good access to the internet here. Julian is divided between oligarchs, tourists and service workers. For many of the service workers, an unlimited data plan is out of the question. Many are on 5GBish per month plans, barely enough to stream music or a little podcasting. The library provides DVDs and internet that allows many Julianites to live an, almost, first world life.
The best library in the country. Great set-up, very quiet and super clean.
I live in Julian and this Library is like the hub of our town. We have concerts here, there are meeting rooms that you can use, you can request anything from all the other branches and it comes in and is put on the shelf for you to pick up and being a small town everybody knows everybody’s name. I can say that I use the library at least once or twice a week and it’s not just for checking out books or movies either. It’s almost like your favorite coffee shop-without the coffee. If you’re just passing through, “Steve Says” that you should check it out, there’s always arts on display or a local author being featured like our famous, Don Winslow.
