finally got the jeep out there to look for and eventually find this mine . happy day !!! and yes this is off the bear valley trail in pine valley....
A great place to ride your motorcycle and dial it in you can turn right to the cycle trail about 7 miles in and that is also a great place and I would highly recommend it once again very enjoyable!
Great trails just a little narrow in spots
Fantastic offroading trail for bikes and 4x4's. High clearance and 4/AWD is a MUST - an 8 inch crosstrek would need a spotter in some parts because of how rocky and variable the trail is. Long wheelbase such as a dually would struggle on this terrain as well due to steep incline rises and dips - however, for both of these vehicles the trail is theoretically passable with an experienced driver. Would not want to be in either however (I attempted in a lifted jeep and there were some sketchy parts for me, a newbie). This trail would be a blast in the rain but only for experienced off roaders with very capable rigs - that being said I believe it is closed during heavy rains. Gate closes at sundown and the parking lot is huge - enough to turn around a mid size RV or a truck with a dirtbike trailer if there are not alot of cars in the lot. I believe you need an adventure pass to access the trail which can be purchased for 5 bucks at a local ranger station - OR if you have a national park pass that will suffice as well. Not having either risks a fine if you are stopped. Overall great place and will definitely be heading back.
