“ Bridge of Life For most of my youth and adulthood I was a patient. I went from facility to facility each time marveling I was still somehow alive. It was painful to give up my ED, the familiarity and comfort it feigned, the false reassurance I needed it in order to survive. I got better finally. I did not act out. The urge to do so was almost innate, compulsive. I trusted, I let go, I took direction. I went home and for the first time I did not relapse and I knew in order to keep that I had to give back.
