(October 8, 2019, 9:53 am)I took my wife here for our eight year anniversary. The sunset was beautiful. It appeared to me that every table had a great view. The food was World class.
I had the rack of lamb and my wife had the fried scallops. While the portions look like it may not be enough it was. I could not finish my plate.
Dress is casual business. Before we went I told my wife there would be guys wearing polos, button ups and three of them would be wearing ties. I was right! I was quite smitten with myself that only three guys had ties on. I mean what are the odds on a call like that?
Just as we began dinner two couples were seated next to us. One guy had a Spaces shirt on. Their table obviously did not read the dress code and was asked to move to the bar. I did tell the guy with the Spaces shirt I thought his shirt was acceptable (subject matter counts in my book and I was wearing Globe skateboard shoes with my slacks after all).
There was a few minutes where I had to put on my sunglasses which felt rude. But, I couldn't see due to the sun on my right and it's reflection on my left.
My wife and I will be back and next time I think we'll get a room too so that we can make a day of it. We kayak here and swim with the sharks. So it would be fun and nice to take walks along the beach and people watch too.

(September 26, 2019, 2:41 pm)I've wanted to visit this iconic San Diego dining spit for years, but to be honest, it's generally out of my price range. The Marine Room offered a great choice of dishes for Restaurant Week, so we took advantage of the occasion. We were not disappointed. The food was beautifully presented and delicious and the service was first class. Of course, the thing that really sets The Marine Room apart from other fine-dining restaurants I'd the location. Looking out the window directly at the ocean lapping at the restaurant (at high tide), is a beautiful experience.
(August 26, 2019, 1:07 am)Amazing as always! There for the High Tide Dinner and the chef's special dinner menu was phenomenal! Thank you Aaron for a great experience. Not the 1st time we have gone and definitely not the last. A gem along many in La Jolla Shores.
(July 21, 2019, 11:49 am)There’s really little not to like about this place. The view is incredible. The food is excellent. The drinks are stiff. The staff is so friendly and helpful, especially to my elderly uncle, whose favorite restaurant this is. Even the drive to it makes you cruise by one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I’ve been there several times year round and I have never been disappointed.
Someday, I’ll make an effort to get there for a meal at high tide. It’s only 1200 miles away from me, but it would be worth it, I think.
