Very hot, no shady areas. Be prepared. The portal restrooms are clean but smelly and well stocked with toilet paper.
Fun little hike. A few water crosses when I went. The group moved at a fast pace and made it in and back at 1hr 15mins some of the smaller kids took an extra 30 minutes but everyone made the hike.
Green lots of flowers and bees and a few pools of water. Mild breezy weather with promise of rain made a great hike even if the waterfalls are gone.
Beautiful hike with lots of green grasslands in the spring and flowing river. Lots of people with dogs. Mostly easy hike with several slopes here and there with many rocks
I love to go on this trail right after a big rain.Oak Canyon Trail (loop) is about 3 miles with 500 feet of elevation gain. You can see a couple of small waterfalls if you go right after a rain. Be sure to take a lot of water with you in the summer. There isn't a lot of cover during hot days.
