We came to Barnard in 1st grade and my daughter will be promoting out of 5th grade this year. The program encompasses more than just language immersion, it bring the culture, its people (through exchange programs, teachers, and interns from China and Taiwan), and its arts. Having a multilingual child is such a blessing because she becomes a global citizen, not just a local one. It takes a family commitment but it is worth it.
Best Mandarin Chinese immersion school in San Diego! I've had my 2 daughters here at this school for 5 years now and we plan of staying till the end. The teachers really care for our students and parent involvement is abundant. Our principal and staff also care for and love our students and school. Thank you!
I could not be happier with this school! My daughter is getting an incredible education AND learning a foreign language in an environment that is highly conducive to collaboration, forward-thinking, and putting students' learning above all else. This is our third year at the school and the level of parent involvement that we continue to see, as well as the teachers' investment in our children's success, is what continues to impress me. We love Barnard!
Ni Hao! My son has been attending Barnard since TK and we love this school. What I enjoy most are the parents we've met, dedicated teachers and staff and hearing the kids from so many diverse backgrounds speaking mandarin together. I highly recommend this school for anyone considering a full immersion school in the San Diego area.
I've been a parent there for years, and really happy with the education, Chinese education, diversity and general spirit of the school. Very happy to have my child there.
