“Quiet park most movement in the early morning and sunset. Great playground for the kids. Pet friendly, there is one outdoor table and one water fountain and some open space that are mostly used for dogs to run or to relieve themselves. I always pick up after my pup but always seems to find surprises left by others so check your shoes if you decide to cut through the grass. The park is landscaped pretty well for the most part of the year. It's a community park so first come first serve no rentals or soliciting. It's not fully gated and the afternoon seems to be the busiest time with the spill out from the elementary schools.”

“Great place. Keep your eyes open though. Rattlesnakes on the trails, Bobcats are in the brush and coyotes sneak up behind you.”

“The park is very clean and well kept. It is used for soccer games Saturday most of the day during the season, and often during weekdays in the evening. It really serves the community well. The bathrooms are very clean and well kept as is the pool which has some fun water features for the children. It us also a great place for exercise and for tennis. If memory serves there is evening lighting till around 10.”

“Montiel Dog Park- Accessibility: first of all I like this park because they have a Porta potty that is a large one, big enough for wheelchairs, and it has a hand rail next to the toilet for you to grab onto if you need. Many dog parks don't have large bathrooms like this so it was great! It also has handicap parking (only two spots though), flat ground to get up to the park and dog park, and there is some paved ground right when you get inside the dog park gates, with two cement tables with built-in cement chairs connected. Likes: as mentioned above, I love the accessibility of this dog park and I do love that there are trees with shade for dogs and owners to rest under. Experience and dislikes: I came here at 7PM on a regular Tuesday and the parking lot (it is a small lot) was almost completely full. There were some cars parked on the side of the road outside the parking lot also. The park had LOTS of people and even more dogs. I did not like that there were so many people without masks on, sitting on the tables close to each other so I wore a mask in here. I also did not like how this dog park has no separation between different size dogs...big dogs and small dogs are all in this one park together and there were many times today where bigger dogs were going after smaller ones in an aggressive mannor. Actually one time today, a large dog was attacking a slightly smaller dog and a woman had to run over and yell at plus hit the big dog with her hand to get off the slightly smaller dog. It was a bit unnerving so I left after that with my small dog.”

“Nice paved trail around the lake and additional trails that you can hike all around the area. There is a continued walk up to Twin Peaks with dirt trails that branch off to various loops bringing you back around to Discovery Lake.”

“Enjoy walking around the lake. Trail is an easy walk on level ground, fishing with license, dock, benches, lots of wildlife. Native plants, clean, well maintained. There are other trails that are moderate to difficult, great for jogging and running. Park area has green space, nice large play structures, and a water feature for the kids. Parking in lot and street parking. A jewel of a park in San Marcos, CA.”

“This is a quaint little park that is nicely shaded and offers a very nice playground for children. The grass is well maintained and is surrounded by small hilltop apartments. There are two covered concrete tables. It only offers an outhouse.”

“as a lifeguard of this fine establishment i would like to say that the pool is well kept and the staff is friendly but, i only gave it 4 out of 5 stars because it is missing one crucial part of any pool that we do not accommodate and it is that we sadly do not have a salad bar, i truly have been pushing the idea to my managers that we should have a salad bar installed immediately as the vegetable known as leguche on the streets not only provides much needed calories that are burned while swimming it also provides hydration which is able to rejuvenate a persons vitals to a perfect amount. with all of this healthy leguche in our bodies it would significantly reduce the rate of drowning by an astonishing 6%!!!”

“Love this park, over the years it has become our family park to host parties. Big grass area to play soccer, volley ball or other games, nice play ground area and a cute little pond to be able to see ducks and turtles. The only dislike about this park is with it being such a big park the bathrooms are a good walking distance from school side of the park and if you are by the lake.”

“This park is so clean, it seems brand new. Lots of space for sports. Picnic areas. Spotless restrooms. Children's play structures. Even horse areas. Empty on a Friday afternoon.”

“This is an easier trail that is well maintained and safe. There's a slight elevation difference throughout this trail compared to the steeper trails starting from the lake or town center. During park hours, there are toilets and parking is across the street from San Elijo School.”

“Fantastic view. The hike up from Discovery Lake is a killer. The road bike climb is also a killer, it gets really steep at the end, and coming down the road is really off camber on the steepest section. Take care.”

“This Stadium us absolutely gorgeous! Can't believe it is a junior college facility. State of the art facilities great seating and the view is perfect from any angle. Score board is state of the art. The bathrooms are clean upscale and high end for a baseball field. It is a little complicated to find if you are not familiar with the campus. My only comment to enhance the experience would be the snack bar. You have what is equal to a minor league Stadium with a little League snack bar. Other than that this place is top notch. I hope the boys of Palomar college realize how fortunate they are to be able to play on such an awesome Stadium.”

“What I liked is that they sperate big dogs from small ones. other than that nothing special about it. just a piece of grass with fence around it. and it smelled like you're at a dog park - duh.”
