California Mountain Bakery

Our favorite! We love so many of their pastries, and their flaky pie crust is just delicious! The family who run it are lovely people who care so much about what they make, how they make it, and how they serve you. Though it’s hard to go wrong with pies and sweets in Julian, CA Mountain Bakery is extra special!

Some of our favorites are: strawberry rhubarb pie (flaky crust), pecan pie; the brownies!!; the spinach/cheese pastry; biscuits; pot pies; pretty much any fruit turnover; the peach muffins especially (though all the ones we’ve tried are yummy); cinnamon rolls; and the Mexican hot chocolate!

Delicious mango apple pie, and their sandwiches were amazingly good.

Holy cow, this place has great pie!

Their crumb topping is nice and crunchy. I'm not a fan of crumb tops that get all soggy and soft. These do not disappoint!

We tried apple crumb and apple mango slices. Both were fantastic. We'll be back to buy a while pie, if we can decide on one flavor.

Voted best pie in California 2022. The traditional apple was amazing. I highly recommend stopping by here on the way to or from Julian. Incredibly friendly staff too.

Awesome apple pie get vanilla ice cream not the cinnamon unless you plan on eating it by itself. Staff very friendly deserving a tip. Great pie best in Julian and the best price for your money. They don't price gouge here. Please don't miss this awesome pie restaurant.
