“Dr Stewart and Gail her veterinary assistant came to our home to exam our newly adopted kitty that lost her previous owner in October. She was not a cooperative patient Dr Stewart and Gail suggested the safest and easiest way for my kitty to be examined was to sedate her. They were so loving and kind to her. They performed the tests she needed and exam efficiently while my kitty was asleep then she received an injection to slowly wake her. Dr Stewart and Gail waited and stayed while she was waking up to make sure she was fine. They were so amazing in handling a very uncooperative kitty I will continue to have my kitty under their care. Gail followed up later to check on my kitty and Dr Stewart called me the next day to review the results of my kitty labs and we now have a solid plan to take care of my kitty needs.”

“In 2009, we welcomed the latest addition to our family, a 2 year old Great Dane named Shrek. Without a family veterinarian at that time, we asked everyone we knew with a pet for referrals. My uncle, having trusted Dr Handel with the health of his Rottweilers, and other pets for years, strongly recommended only Palomar Animal Hospital. Since our first appointment, the entire staff has been nothing short of amazing. I am now the one telling everyone I know about PAH, and how awesome they are. From day one with Shrek to day 3,256 when we sadly had to say goodbye to him, everyone at PAH was so caring and helpful, it was like they shared the same love for our "youngest boy". Dr Handel, Dr Knox, Dr Nissen and every single member of their team have been such an important part of our wonderful years with Shrek. I credit them with the extra years of healthy, happy life we shared with him. To see a Great Dane of nearly 11 years old acting just as healthy as 2 years old, is impressive to anyone who knows the breed. Please, do yourself and your pet a favor, and at least meet the Palomar Animal Hospital family, and I am confident you will feel the same as we do about them.”

“Came here for the vaccine clinic on Saturday. Prices were reasonable and they were decently quick. I was a bit surprised that they gave the shots right in front of you in the exam room instead of taking my dog to the back, but it went ok and I at least knew where the shots were administered. Took away 1 star because the front desk staff was ok, but they weren't the friendliest. When I came in, I wasn't greeted and was just kinda looked at until I stated why I was there.”

“As I’m sure is the case with many pet owners, putting our dog down was one of the most difficult things we’ve ever had to do, but the entire experience with Peaceful Passing was worth every cent. Being able to say goodbye to our family’s companion and grieve in the privacy of our living room - where he truly passed peacefully to the Rainbow Bridge - was a decision we’ll never regret. Dr. Jessica Laemmle was a real professional and brought a bedside manner that was both comforting to our dog and to us. I even asked her to check his vitals again after she had pronounced his passing - just to be sure he was really gone - and she did so without hesitation. She walked us through a few of his vitals, which gave us the surety we needed that our pups was truly at rest so we could feel confident once she had gone away with him. PP also partners with Furever Loved, a small, family-owned crematory that provided reassuring updates as we waited expectantly for pup’s final homecoming. They delivered him back in a very nice oakwood memory box, along with a good paw print, fur clipping, and a few other materials. He had clearly been handled with love & care the few weeks he was away from us. I highly recommend these services.”

“A year ago I adopted an approximately 9 year old dog who had been in a deplorable condition. The shelter had 13 teeth removed, but left behind some bad teeth, and the roots of the extracted teeth (which had grown through his gums). His mouth became seriously painful. He couldn’t eat. His vet sent us to Pacific Coast Veterinary Services. I am so thankful they were able to help my little guy. Every tooth in his head had to be removed. He is now doing well and it’s a joy to see him comfortable and happy. I loved the Dr and his staff. Everyone was welcoming, courteous and kind. I have high regard for the Drs, and another pet is heading there next week!”

We had to come in because my elderly cat was dying and it was a very sensitive appointment, but everyone was so kind, patient, and compassionate. “Rarely do I ever give five stars in a review. But Poway animal hospital deserves it. Sherlock here was feeling very poorly, and I did not like his current veterinarian. A neighbor had recommended Poway animal hospital to me a couple months prior. I gave them a call and explained what was going on with Sherlock. They got him in on the same day and before I knew it, he was going in for an ultrasound the very next day. He ended up having to go for surgery to save his life. The staff here treated me with the utmost compassion, professionalism and patience. They listened and answered all the questions I had and even gave me regular updates on Sherlock's progress on the day of surgery and for a couple of days afterward. They even sent me photos. They saved my sweet Sherlock's life. That is a debt that I cannot repay. I highly recommend this veterinary office to anyone who's looking for a veterinarian!”

“My 3 lb toy Yorkie was bit on her head by my German Sheppard and she was bleeding from her ear and her eye. I didn't think she would make it. She was taken back immediately and 2 doctors started working on her. Not only were they concerned about my dog but myself as well, as I was historical and felt like I couldn't breath, they noticed my breathing right away and brought me water and checked on me. After a 3 hr stay my baby is now home sleeping on my chest! She has a long road of recovery but she's a fighter and is on her way to recovery! Thank you all so much for being so kind and taking care of my baby girl!”

“We really like coming into this vet - the techs are all extremely kind and friendly and go out of their way to help, even just over the phone. Even though there isn’t currently a permanent vet, we’ve had really good care with the relief vets (and we appreciated that the one we’ve mainly seen is very current on research, diets, etc!). For regular care for mostly healthy pets, this is a great place to come! If you have an emergency or a pet with a serious condition who needs to be seen frequently and by the same vet each time, you’ll probably need to go down the hill — but for ordinary care, this is a great place where you’ll feel like your pet’s care and comfort (and your concerns, too) are prioritized.
