“Nice little park very close from my home. Lots of benches with an amazing bay view. The views of the Bay bridge are great. The park is dog friendly. It’s not super clean though, and some of the benches smell bad.”

“A small little park down bear Hunters Point. The facilities are minimal but well kept. The park has a beautiful shoreline with views across the water to Oakland and Alameda. Once a year, during the great herring spawn, you may even be graced by a shore full of fish people casting their throw nets to catch the great schooling fish. Highly recommend taking a visit to this sleepy park during a sunny day.”

“Beautiful little suburban peak in the middle of a densely populated neighborhood. This park was near my Airbnb and my girlfriend and I would have a small hiking trip to it on the evenings. It had an amazing view, great open space and easily available. Everyone who we encountered up there were all friendly and kind.”

“This is a teaching garden, which means it's a place that holds gardening classes. The food that they grow is harvested and donated to local charities. They welcome volunteers of all ages to help in the garden and their classes are great too. The instructor for the class I took was very knowledgeable and took her time explaining things to us in a clear way. I hope to return soon to help harvest food and take one of their monthly composting classes.”

“The playground is very very basic. A big concrete slide and 2 sets of bigger kid swings over a sand pit. That's it. If you want to hang out for a few mins this is the place to take them. I love only 4 blocks away so it's convenient for me to take my 7 year old here since I'm pregnant. Otherwise I would go somewhere bigger.”

“Crazy fun for all ages! Even my 75-year mother enjoyed the slides. :) There was already cardboard at the slides so we didn't need to bring any. We went on a Friday and there were just a few smaller kids there who didn't stay long. There are two slides side by side so you can race. This was a fun time!”

“Blue Tower up the hill: Most amazing view in the neighborhood offering a 200° angle from Southern Hills to the East Bay. Whenever the day is clear it's at its best! One of the neighborhood's hidden gems, just like the rest of McLaren park.”
