My 😎 favorite local getaway is finally open!! It just didn't seem like summer 🏖️without being able to put my feet 👣 in the cool, cool river🏞️!! I LOVE💕 it here!!....free entrance/parking, pets🐕 allowed, bathrooms and life jackets🛟 available and lots of private areas to chill out. With the water🌊 having been so high there is a fresh selection of all kinds of rocks⛰️.It seems like the colors are more intense and more polished rocks around shore. I can't help but check them all out and add the coolest to my collection!
Update: I thought this was already posted. It was from a month or so ago. Since then the river is running very high and swift. Went there Sept 4th. Still awesome but be careful!😊
A place to go and escape the stress of busy days, days that are off. Come to the river and be renewed, refreshed, and feel like yourself again. I can't get enough of this beautiful river.
*Update *
If you want to see salmon run in the fall this is the place to go. I was amazed. How these fish migrate and spawn is just awesome. not we saw so many fish swimming upstream and jumping out of the water. Some of them were huge! Just sitting on the edge of the river we saw so many. It was a sight to see. Everyone should see this at least once in their lifetime. There's also a couple Eagles nests didn't see any eagles unfortunately. Saw plenty of other birds and pheasants(?) Running around. The Fishery was awesome too.
Summertime
Nice flat trail along the river with places to pull off and sit or splash around (personally I didn't see any places deep enough to swim but I think that if you look around you could find them). Some benches and picnic tables. Plenty of parking and shade. The fishery next to it was super cool. Quite busy on weekends though. This trip was early September and it's right in line with the migrating bird fly way I saw many raptors flying south and stopping to fish.
Absolutely beautiful place to walk around in the cool water. Not too deep nor too shallow but perfect for floating and kayaking. Has no deep pockets for fishing in plain view.
A really beautiful and quiet place that is great for picnic and fishing! No crowdedness! The picnic tables are spread out. You can have one place for yourself!
My kid loves playing with the water but there is not much for hiking/walking.
There is only one bathroom! No hand sanitizer or water for washing hands!
Free parking!!!
