The new Atherton Library is very nice with several rooms that you can book for quiet work . Also a nic e deck to sit outside and be Madame Collette coffee and pastry shop
By far the most aesthetically beautiful public library in this area in terms of location + interior design (Mill Valley, Mountain View, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Burlingame, Rinconada, Los Altos, Cupertino, and San Mateo are close contenders).
The interior is lined with beautiful wood and garnished with chairs designed by established firms/designers such as Fritz Hansen and Design Within Reach. This is literally the most beautiful contemporary interior design of a library I’ve ever seen on the west coast, you have to see it to believe it.
Great location, extremely friendly and helpful staff, and not a lot of people traversing through this area - ideal for peaceful studying and work for professionals who need a break from coffee shops (like myself).
Thank you to all of the library staff, donors, community members, and friends of the Atherton Library for making this incredible library possible, I’m grateful for your hard work and giving spirit to make this a safe place for all of the Bay Area community to enjoy.
Very nice library. Nice staff. Nice stack of books. Good checkout automated system. Good for kids too.
Beautiful place! Inside out build very thoughtful, comfortable, enjoyable, much appreciated! A tiny coffee/snack spot would be nice but not complaining at all!!:) Please please please build a small playground outside the trains are fun bonus!
A beautiful library with a wonderful children’s section. Interactive materials, comfortable seating, many board books at a child’s level. Big, tall windows to provide natural light and doors that open to the patio. A nice place to spend the afternoon.
