Our daughter and son attended Little Scholar Preschool from 2 to 4 years old. They learned so much during that time and made many friends. Mitch and Maggie's curated curriculum helped the grow into actual "little scholars" from their baby stage. They did all sorts of arts and crafts that they happily brought home with them. We also appreciated their strict food policy as our son had peanut allergy. I could always count on her Teacher Liz attention's to details. Our daughter had lice one time. Teacher Liz's eagle eyes caught it and prevented an outbreak at the school. Overall, Little Scholar Preschool was a clean and safe place for our little ones along with an excellent curriculum for them to grow. We only took our kids out of the school because we had to move. Otherwise, we would have continued.
We had a great experience. Terrific preschool all the way around. I would highly recommend.
Little Scholar was an incredibly positive experience for our daughter. Mitch and Maggie are thoughtful, attentive and caring -- and they have built a program that sets kids up for success as they enter into Kindergarten and beyond. I also trust them to maintain a safe, clean environment that teaches kids self-responsibility.
I cannot recommend their program enough -- thank you Mitch and Maggie for everything you did to care for our daughter and set her up for success!
Our now 3yo daughter went to Little Scholar for around 4 months at the end of 2019, until we had to move out of state for family reasons. Now that we have experience with other preschools, it is easy to see what a great program Teacher Mitch and Teacher Maggie run. It was nice dealing with a smaller preschool and I wouldn't hesitate to reenroll our daughter if we were to move back to the bay area.
Little Scholar Preschool is a very special little school, and has been a great fit for our rambunctious 3YO son. He has thrived in the calm and structured environment that Mitch and Maggie have created in their home. The routines they have established to support the kids through entry, exits and transitions are a strong framework for a day filled with fun learning, songs, projects, movement, and play. The kids are encouraged to be responsible, independent and self-sufficient - skills which they bring home with them, along with new songs every week and dance moves from their music & motion class. The school offers many special things including Spanish storytime, Japanese story time, regular librarian visits, ceramics classes, dance classes and a strong curriculum. I love that when my son brings home his "work" for the week, he can tell me in detail about every single project and what he learned - the lessons are obviously taught very well and in a way that is meaningful to the children. The kids at the school are just lovely and Mitch, Maggie, and Lis have done a wonderful job modelling and encouraging gentle and kind behavior - everyone at my son's school is his "friend" and he looks forward to playing with them every day. I also really appreciate how organized and kind Mitch and Maggie are, how straightforward and prompt they are with their communications, and I love getting the newsletters, email updates and photo albums. It is so clear from the photos how deeply engaged the kids are in everything they are doing at the school, and what a diverse range of things they are being exposed to. As a working parent, there is nothing better than to see your child thrive under the care and guidance of others and I feel very lucky to have found this school for my son.
