“Great place to hide from the heatwave - it stays cool even when rest of the coast is red hot. Some trails are closed after the fire; entrance fee is $10. Parking is limited.”

“Absolutely awe inspiring and breathtaking. Worth the little hike. Dress warm. The docents are so nice and knowledgeable. So much wildlife to enjoy -- watch your step! I almost stepped on a garter snake!”

“Our experience was wonderful. Their on site store is well stocked. If you don't feel like cooking the restaurant has an amazing menu. The food is delicious! The staff are friendly and very helpful. The campsites are well maintained. It's my favorite KOA.”

“Best experience of our entire trip. We went to Universal studios and come back through San Fransisco and stayed here on the way. We will be coming back just to stay here. By the ocean. Lots of trails and absolutely beautiful including amazing location, view and super friendly.”

“Nice little 3-mile running/hiking loop with ocean views accessible from Hwy 1, about 380’ of elevation gain on grass and packed dirt. Definitely do a tick check when you’re done, they seem to love coastal grassy areas.”

“Small sight seeing spot along the coast of CA-1. As usually, the view is breathtaking. Nothing much to see here except the light house and a small historic hotel but it's a nice place to visit if you're driving and want to make a little stop. Make sure you bring warm clothing as it will be on the cool side year round.”

“Great hike! Followed the Jackson Flats trail up and the fire road/Mill Ox trail down, 5.5 miles, moderate difficulty, 2.5 hours. Watch out for California newts and banana slugs underfoot. Look up at redwoods and Douglas fir. If it is clear you have good vistas at the top. Muddy and moderately slippery so wear good boots.”

“Beautiful and nicely spread out campsites. It's nice that they have bathrooms, food lockers, and trash cans (at least in the summer). Lots of trees so you can hang a hammock (just not on redwoods). If you walk up the trail a bit onto the ridge there is good phone service which was nice peace of mind. Was not expecting mosquitos though so I got eaten alive! Bring some bug spray!”

“First time at the Preserve and kept getting lost. Did find a place with a dozen, or so, Turkey Vultures flying around which made me happy.”
