  Nijiya San Mateo provides perfect sushi I rice . It is amazing. Taste is relatively sweet like aged mom made. I cannot get Nijiya-grade sushi rice from any of super markets in Japan. It is quite difficult even if from any of sushi restaurants. I know some of special Sushi restaurants can serve rice competitive with Nijiya's. But it's quite expensive like over 120 dollars per meal. I can make Nijiya-grade sushi rice by myself to serve for my family. Rice, sugar, vinegar and salt, and how to cook.

  Nice convenient Japanese supermarket in San Mateo with a good selection of sushi and sashimi to go! The bentos and chirashi dons are really reasonably priced. Cheaper than going to a restaurant! You can ask for extra soy sauce and wasabi at checkout for free too

  Excellent Japanese market with large selection of sushi and other Japanese favorites. Clean and fresh stock.

  It's like a smaller mitsuwa, (a japanese market In San jose) they have similar items, which is convenient and the prices are similar and the staff is quick and friendly too.

  I love the ready cooked food selections! They're healthier compare to other nearby fast food stores and Safeway's. It's conveniently located in a shopping center in El Camino which is great! Customer Service wise, they're really nice, friendly and accommodating!
