Outstanding service department. I don't trust anybody else to repair my mountain bike. They treat you right if you're hands-off or if you're learning to wrench on your bike. They'll often squeeze in a tune up or quick fix for free without an appointment.
Today they bailed me out from a crank replacement that went south due to a mislabeled part, even though I didn't have an appointment.
Great selection of tools, parts, lubes, etc.
Took in a $120 secondhand bike with a few minor issues. Quoted $200+ for a full tuneup but they were able to work with me to fix the major problems for only $30. Appreciate the flexibility and friendly staff.
We went in to buy a Specialized Stumpjumper Alloy. Lance was the person that helped us. I believe he was the owner/manager of the store. He was such a great guy, knowledgeable, funny and pleasant. He sold my husband a S4 stumpjumper alloy and gave us a very good discount plus threw in the paddles for free. Thank you Lance and the great team at Trail Head Cyclery!! Y'all Rock!
A treasure of the Bay Area the BEST local bike shop around! Great mechanics that do custom builds to kids bikes, I have total respect for this shop. Salespersons are lead by Cooper the sales manager that get you what you need and are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The owner Lars is a big part of the success of everyone around him now go out and ride!
I love this place. If you like mountain bikes, and if you're looking to buy one, this is the place for you! I got a Nimbus Kevlar-lined road tire, and a pair of ram bars for my cross-country bike, and I must say that the service was great! They let me choose which kind of tire I wanted to get, and made sure that I knew what I was in for, with each tire that they brought out. I've had that tire on my bike for a whole year, and not even one little pinhole has shown up. Be careful though, everything in here is pretty spendy, be prepared to spend over $50 for even just smaller items, like bike lights, pedals, handlewraps, etc.
