Very interesting gallery. It's like a small museum for the 3m telescope. We went late in the day (4pm-ish), so it was near closing. Before we left we saw one of the researchers attending to part of the telescope and using one of the special lifts (that look like a fork lift). You can definitely spend a long time in there looking at the slideshows they have on display.
Pretty cool view of the telescope from inside the building it's housed in.
This is a brilliant venue full of peace and love. You can spend some incredible quality and family time there. You can learn a lot about astronomy.
If you are interested in learning about science and astronomy this is a must visit
I was visiting from out of town and decided to go up My Hamilton and visit the Lick Observatory. I happened to be there at a half hour mark, so went in to hear the 15 minute talk and see the big telescope. Really good! Afterwards, explored the area. Highly recommended!
