We are so happy with our choice to send our child to this school. Being from oversees, it can be challenging to select a school where you have no context or history with the school. St. Joseph's offers not only excellent teaching but also a fantastic ethos that fosters and emboldens kindness, community and friendships. I would highly recommend the school whether you are from town or out of town.
My son loves going to San Joseph in Mountain View because the teachers are very friendly and helpful. They are very positive and attentative to the students. My son learns a lot in the school. It has a big playground outside which my son enjoys a lot during PE lessons and recess.
I love our school. The teachers have been wonderful! The school implements an inclusion model that makes all students feel welcome. The administration is great at communicating with parents and making them feel supported. The administration went above and beyond during the school closures in making sure every student was able to continue learning from day one. I couldn't ask for anything more in a Catholic education. St. Joseph school has provided an enriching learning environment for my family for 5 years and we are grateful to be a part of the community.
My daughter joined St. Josephs in Kindergarten.
We visited the school a few months before the general "covid situation", and got a very warm vibe from the place.
Kindergarten started in a completely online manner, but was still quite engaging.
After three months, the school opened for "hybrid learning", and it was really great to see my daughter get to be in class with other kids, and play in the playground. She was much happier than simply interacting with everyone over Zoom, and being able to play with them really makes her day.
The school community is ... for lack of a better word ... _joyful_. Even in these COVID times, we had a drive-through for christmas and halloween (with volunteer decorations), a food donation drive and a "virtual walkathon". There is an active parent-teacher group.
What more could we possibly ask for?
I am convinced SJMV is a great place for a child to start kindergarten or first grade.
If you're in the neighborhood, and looking into schools, I heartily recommend it.
My son transferred to SJMV this school year at 7th Grade. He has some adjustments issues during first trimester but the teachers and staff aided him in order to catch up. My son expresses that he values so much the learning materials and high-quality content of the curriculum. They do a great job communicating with the parents through the dashboard and email as well. We love this school!!
