I stayed at Woodcrest for 1 night in October.
This is a very solid 3 star-level hotel at a price which is very hard to beat in the Silicon Valley.
I paid 234 usd for a pictured room with a continental breakfast.
Rooms are renovated in the last few years, lobby is a bit older style (they have a small convenience store for the guests :) )
My room was on the eastern side of the building, I don't think I've heard any noise from the street.
The room was so nice and spacious. It was very quiet. The staff was so friendly and they let me do a super early check in so I could shower get to the game on time. Good full breakfast bar. The location is perfect for my needs. Great experience
Walking into the lobby of the hotel, you get an older feel to the establishment. My wife said it reminded her of an old hotel in London - not unpleasant, but clearly a more dated style. The location is excellent, directly next to a variety of stores and immediate access to the highway. I found the staff very attentive and welcoming.
Going up to our room was where we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms appear to be recently renovated and had some nice cabinetry in the bathroom. More importantly, the room and bathroom was incredibly spacious, almost on par with what I would consider a private suite. There is a nice large window to let in natural light from the courtyard, but a set of very dark blackout curtains are available for the late mornings, keeping the room pitch black.
There really was no noise or disturbances to speak of, despite close proximity to the major road and highway, so I’m assuming the rooms are well insulated. No noises from other guests were noted either.
Not sure if it’s a regular occurrence, but the hotel staff put out a COMPLIMENTARY huge welcome basket of snacks and drinks that lasted us well into our 3 day stay! In this economy?! A small but personal touch that we appreciated.
Overall, the hotel is not necessarily cheap, but you definitely get a great experience. I would take this hotel over a traditional hotel chain any day, and look forward to staying again next time I’m in the area.
I stayed here with my sister last week and was very impressed by the service and spaciousness of the room. Breakfast was very good and the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. (We had an AC problem when we first arrived but received a new room promptly). Would definitely stay again and recommend as an affordable place to stay in the neighborhood.
