I am a student at University of East-West Medicine. The school environment is great with passionate and knowledgable professors. Competitive tuition and program offering night and weekend classes are great. I highly recommend this program if you want to become an acupuncturist.
I was dealing with severe back pain due to metastatic prostate cancer when I decided to take acupuncture treatment. That’s because I believe in the effectiveness of acupuncture as a complementary treatment to enhance my healing process. I researched for the best acupuncturist near me to deal with my condition. It wasn’t until I found the name of Dr. Wang from the University of East and West Medical clinic that I made a decision. It was his specialization of treating difficult diseases that prompted me to choose him as my acupuncturist, and I did not regret it.
Within 3 months of my western treatment, my condition improved dramatically. Even though I was taking chemotherapy, my energy got better as my back-pain decreased dramatically. My latest CT scan showed that cancer has stopped spreading and my PSA dropped down from 578 to 24. While I can give credit to chemotherapy, I firmly believe that Dr. Wang’s treatment that helped enhance my improvement without experiencing negative side-effects, such as loss of hair, nausea, vomiting, and loss of energy and appetite.
Also, there was a time when I pulled a groin muscle and the pain of it made it hard to move in and out of bed. My Oncologist brought up the possibility of having a radiation treatment, which I refused. When Dr. Wang learned about it, he immediately gave me an acupuncture treatment, and in one week, the pain was gone, and I was back to my normal active self again.
Dr. Wang explained to me how acupuncture opens up the “gates” in certain parts of my body to allow for the normal flow of energy to be released and thus help my body heal itself. He also taught me the benefits of healing Qigong exercises that I should practice daily to keep the gates open to achieve a healthier body with stronger immune system.
Dr. Wang’s treatment is holistic. In our sessions he encourages the importance of having a positive outlook in life. He advises the right supplement to take and encourages a clean diet. I am even delighted to learn that Dr. Wang and I share the same philosophy, that if you think healthy, your body will start following your thought processes.
Perhaps the best lesson that I derived from his treatment is that, if I take care of myself as a person, I also take care of the health of planet earth and that of the universe. And I like that for I am convinced that the reason why I am experiencing a lot of energy now is to give something back to my Source by doing volunteer works, giving dance lessons again, and expressing happiness and gratitude wherever I am, as often as I can. Thank you. Dr. Wang!
I have been going to the University of East West medicine for close to twenty years. I have referred most of my friends and family to this institution over the years when they have had medical problems, that were not getting resolved.
I have been treated with Acupuncture, Chi gong, cupping, Chiropractic adjustments, massages, herbs for rashes and had successful treatments for TMJ. After going there for 17 years, I have never been disappointed.
Everyone is kind, compassionate, patient and professional. Dr. Wang the Founder, has studied Eastern and Western medicine for over 40 years and is amazing at diagnosing problems with his finger tips - he is fantastic. I encourage anyone and everyone to call this school for an appointment as I am confident you won’t be disappointed
Your first visit is free and if you need to continue treatment there, the cost is less than what you would pay for a meal.
UEWM has dedicated faculties and a hospitable environment that fosters students learning Traditional Chinese Medicine. Along with this, UEWM staff have been extremely nice and the professors are knowledgeable. It offers affordable tuition and an inclusive student-centered climate that prepares excellent medical education. I started my part-time Master program 3 years ago. The school offers evening and weekend classes so it doesn't affect my daily work and life.
I enjoy my experience at UEWM, and learned a lot that prepared me for my success as a medical professional.
If you want to learn Traditional Chinese Medicine, get a good degree, and have a college experience with a moderate state school feel, you should definitely come.
I am a student here and I will graduate by the end of this year! I have already been internship at the clinic. I have always liked Chinese medicine very much. I didn't expect to have a chance to become a professional acupuncturist in the United States. I am very grateful to the school having Chinese class too, which solved my very big trouble!
