Wastahi Campground

We had a great time here last summer. We usually camp closer to the beach, but I took too long to make our reservations. Luckily I was able to find space here. My friends and family loved it. We went on a few hikes around the area and went to the big open rock area to look at the stars at night. We did bring our dogs along and they had a good time too, you can only take dogs on designated trails (paved road)
The campsite is very big on cleaning up all food and trash so to not attract predatory birds. The area was great, only thing was, the restrooms right near our campsite was completely out of order, closed off. We had to go a distance for the restroom/shower. Made it a bit of a cluster muck at the restrooms. But all in all great.

This is my favorite campground in Big Basin SP. Depending on the site, this can almost feel like you've backpacked in to your own wilderness site, but still have the amenities of a developed site with bear boxes (there are no bears, but the SP is militant about not leaving any food out that may attract birds) and fire rings. Always disappointing that this SP does not allow hanging hammocks from any trees. It can be a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the campsite (at most five minutes, but that's a lot carrying car camping gear). Keep in mind that they currently have one of the two toilet buildings closed which can cause long waits at the sole remaining stall. The showers were gross and for a few nights it was worth just being dusty. The mosquitoes were brutal and relentless; being the heavy duty bug spray and expect lots of bites regardless.

A really nice campground in the woods that isn’t too far off of a nice easy to access road. It is a pretty primitive campground ⛺️ but still has a pick nick table, fire pit and food storage bin. There was some bathrooms but I did not get a chance to ck them out.
