“I just returned home from another wonderful weekend spent at this scenic retreat center. The location, which overlooks Monterey Bay, is an excellent place to refresh one’s soul. Villa Maria Del Mar is owned and operated by the Sisters of the Holy Names, a congregation of Catholic women religious. According to center’s website the property includes a chapel and three buildings that are used for bedrooms, meeting rooms and dining rooms. A major asset is its proximity to the beach, which enhances one’s spiritual journey with dazzling sunrises and sunsets and the gentle songs from waves meeting the nearby shore. In addition to attending to one’s spiritual health, nourishment is provided with healthy menus prepared by Epicurean Group. The rooms are clean and neat. Hospitality is also offered by the Sisters and staff in abundance.”
