really glad that my friends dragged me out here.

coming out here i had no expectations except another martial arts business, but i was absolutely blown away how well the trainer is and how well he explains each part of the lessons. you can genuinely see that the trainer is not here for the money but here to teach and train anyone who is interested in martial arts. almost all the trainers that i have come across either have flaming egos, but not miro.

honestly, this is the place i would go to for martial arts training

I started attending the Gracie Combatives classes regularly for almost a year. At age 42 I'm now in the best shape of my life, and the exercise isn't even as rigorous as the CrossFit classes I used to take. Using body weight (pushing, pulling, lifting) for building strength is the most effective way. Regardless, I didn't join Gracie Combatives to get in shape as much as I wanted to learn techniques of self-defense. I can now defend myself confidently in almost any situation. It feels amazing, and I always look forward to the next class.
More importantly, Miro is by far the most extraordinary teacher, not to mention a very respectable human being. He has a special way of connecting with us, and he tailors his instruction to each of our needs. He and his incredible family are fully devoted to martial arts. They are always present at the studio, and they are very welcoming to all. It's no wonder we all feel like honorable members of Miro's family. It's a place that feels like home away from home, a place where I've gained a lot of very cool brothers and sisters.

This is my honest opinion and experience. I have been going to Miro's jiu-jitsu classes for 8 months and I can tell you it is one of the best decisions I have made. I researched a lot of schools, so it was tough to make a decision. But the first day I went, I knew this was the place I needed. Miro is a very humble and respectful person which are qualities a lot of instructors lack. He teaches in a way that is understandable for all levels yet adds details that advanced students can also work on. Because I am a curious person so I ask a lot of why this? Or why not that way? Which can be difficult and frustrating to answer but Miro explains everything with reasoning and is patient with everyone. Even the environment of the dojo is super friendly and everyone is like family. There are a lot of other positive things that I could mention but it would take too long. So just give it a try and I assure you that you won't regret it!

I have been attending Miro taekwondo/Gracie Vallejo for about 8 months now and I didn't think it would influence me this much. Miro is a great instructor and teacher. He is passionate on what he teaches and is very detailed during his instructions. He teaches every class like its your first so you don't feel lost or confused. He is very patient
and he welcomes everyone with open arms. Everyone in class is very helpful too. I was very skeptical in joining any school but after watching and doing 2 trial classes, I knew this is the right school for me. I am very fortunate to be learning from him. Since I joined I am in better shape, more aware of my surroundings, more confident and more flexible than I thought I can ever be. I highly recommend doing some trial classes to anyone who's interested in taekwondo or gracie jiujitsu. You won't be disappointed.
