  Located at 17110 Bodega Lane, Bodega, California, the former school house was original built in 1873. By the start of the 1960's, the building had been abandoned and the façade was repaired for use as the school in "The Birds". The property passed into private ownership in 1966. In the background, Saint Teresa of Avila Church is a Roman Catholic church in Bodega, California. The white, wooden church with a steeple sits on a hilltop overlooking Bodega Highway. The church was built by shipbuilders in 1860 on land donated by Jasper O'Farrell. Alfred Hitchcock attended service at the church in between filming "The Birds".

  The famous church from the Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds." Adjacent to the famous Potter School, also in the movie. They both can be found on the Bodega Hwy in the town of Bodega about a mile inland from the Hwy 1 coast. I always take friends to see them. The Church is still functioning for mass services.

  I love this church in the town of Bodega. Besides being a House of God it is also the church made famous when it was featured in Alfred Hitchcock's 60's thriller, The Birds.

  Great little stop if your a fan of Hitchcock's. I love how he used so many places throughout Sonoma County and highlighting little things. He was a master in his field and he was ahead of his time.
  
  I plan on coming back here this summer and taking some amazing black and white photos. Id love to do a shoot here one day...
