Loved the food and the alternative vibe. Unbeatable view. To the staff: Life is too important to be taken seriously. Enlightenment = Joy.

(July 19, 2019, 6:43 pm)Really interesting spot along the Russian River. The food is served in a buffet style without set prices; you pay what you feel like giving. The food is really good; I enjoyed their borscht and they had a number of different vegetarian dishes when I visited. They also have kvass on request.
While it is a restaurant, it feels almost like a community hall or culture center. A significant portion of their clientele were Russian speakers, and I was greeted in Russian (they're fluent English speakers, of course). They also host small events, and when I visited they had a chess day, with boards that were free to play out on the tables.

(707) 865-9456. This restaurant is like no other. First off they have no menu, the"inspiration of the day" is set out on a beautifully set table as you enter the large, spacious dining room. The Russian House is well worth visiting one time. The food was good although the buffet selection was limited.
