My family of 5 just did the 3.1 mile big loop on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The trails are wide, relatively flat, and clean. We are grateful to be allowed to visit tribal land of the Coastal Miwok and other tribes that inhabited the area in the past.
There are cows on the trail, which also means there is cow poop. No big deal, just keep an eye out.
Dogs are allowed on leash. We also saw some people riding horses.
Portapotty bathrooms are available, and the handicap parking is located right near the bathrooms.
We will visit again.
Tolay Lake Regional Park really brings one back to the old Sonoma County of the 1970s. A great for photography and bird watching. A campground is planned for the future.
Great little park, awesome fall festival & amazing staff/volunteers. I hope to return next year!
A beautiful and wide open park. It is very rustic still, with port-a-pottys in the parking lot. The road in is also gravel, but it's pretty well maintained.
The main thing to note is that there is very little tree cover. Bring a hat! Also, it's a new park, so at this point there are very few (or no) places to sit and rest on some trails.
The trails are very defined, and the vistas are beautiful. Seems to be a great spot for bikes and horses too.
Today I took a panoramic picture of Petaluma and San Francisco at the same time. That's pretty cool.
Fall Festival was a great time with lots of fun activities.
