We were one of only two campers at this simple, but clean and sufficient, campground. It was so beautiful with the Sierras to the east and the coastal hills to the west. The historical town is absolutely fabulous, and we took a self guided tour as a family before we left. As we were almost done a friendly ranger approached us and gave us additional insight while answering our children's questions. Definitely a highlight of our trip!
While on a trip i had to stop and see where my grandmother and her family lived. We were anle to see their home still standing.
Enjoyed my first Juneteenth Celebrate and first visit to Allensworth State Historic Park.
Will be returning for a more indepth look at the historical sites.
We stayed in the small campground attached to the historic park. We were the only occupied spot, so we had wonderful morning and evening walks. Sunsets were awesome. If you really want to get away from it all, this is the place. We would give it 5 stars if it had hookups and dependable water supply.
This is an awesome place to visit. So much history and so we'll maintained. Definitely gives over a taste of what love was like back in the late 1800s/early 1900s. We had so much fun exploring and even did some ghost hunting. Definitely going back with friends to show it off to others!
