(May 22, 2019, 11:32 am)This restaurant is exceptional and, I never say this, but beyond unique. Our server spoke French and taught us a bit which was beyond a pro. The low light and interior design has a steakhouse decor. The prices are unbeatable for the high class food. The meals tasted superb and obviously had much care into the making. I recommend all to stop on by and give this place a try!!
(March 30, 2019, 12:44 am)I came here at 2:03 pm for a late lunch and left feeling full and satisfied. When my mom and I first arrived we were somewhat unsure of whether we should eat here as the waitlist was quite long. However, we were seated in around five minutes (a happy surprise).
I love the modern industrial feel of the place from its wooden interior to classy lights. I will say that it was quite loud and packed even though it was nearing the closing time (2:30 pm).
My mom ordered the Blueberry Stuffed Crunch French Toast ($14) and I the K-Tacos ($17). The French Toast was not only aesthetically pleasing but also extremely tasty and sweet. The inside was soft while the exterior contrasted it with the crunchy flacks. The K-Tacos were filling and savory balancing out the sweetness from the toasts. The spicy pork wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be and this is coming from someone with a low spicy tolerant; however if you want more spice, you should drizzle on some of the dressings provided with the entree. The food itself deserves a five however the prices were a little more on the expensive side.
I would highly recommend you try this place at least once whenever you're in the Bay Area for its amazing dishes!
(March 23, 2019, 4:55 am)Fun, laid back spot to enjoy some drinks and light food. They have a whiskey Moscow mule ("Topsy Mule") which was awesome and still very refreshing despite being whiskey-based. Happy hour is pretty long... 2-7pm! Service was quick and friendly. On Wednesday they have a chicken wings special which was a good value. Clean bathroom. Honestly nothing to criticize here... it was a bit slow at 4pm but by 5pm on a Wed it had picked up with young professionals, although there were still a few spots to sit down. I had a good time.
(March 16, 2019, 3:01 pm)Of prime importance to me, the food at Barrel 33 is delicious. The establishment is small. It feels cozy rather than cramped, a great place to go with your significant other or a small group. Since it is a wine bar, the wine selection looks pretty broad, but I am not a wine drinker. The walls are tiled with the branded boards from wine crates; I find it an attractive and creative addition to the (mostly) wine and food themed decor. The proprietor seems very genuine and wonderfully personable.
