I had a pretty scary experience with my jet ski breaking down, then crashing onto the beach due to the high surf and current.
The port heueneme life guard and harbor patrol were on scene before I stood up right on the beach.
Hats off to everyone that helped me. Doing a great job!!!
Professional and well trained. Always seem to know where they will possibly be needed right on time ! have seen them Patrol up to surfers point and help with rescues between there, the pier, the beaches, and harbor. I have seen them keep jet ski, light craft away from swimmers, surfers, beaches. I know they are esp necessary for stalls or konked engines right at harbor mouth where boats can be drifting into the rocks from wind, waves, currents. Which make their training, equipment and professionalism all the more important because of the short notice and reaction time. If necessary i know from past experience when i was young, they even help those sailors that ignore the flag and go out in the ocean in inclement weather And break a mast. They are highly trained, and outfitted or updated with top equipment same as other first responders.

The Ventura Harbor Patrol was notified at 2:10 a.m. about a boat that had started sinking in its slip at the Ventura Harbor Village Marina, 1583 Spinnaker Drive. Around 1 p.m., a sling was deployed to lift the rear of the boat out of the water so fuel and water could be pumped out, the patrol reported.
The whale was not injured, said Ventura Harbor Patrol Officer Tim Burrows. He added that marine biologists with Channel Islands National Park are broadcasting underwater whale calls to lure the mammal out to sea.
