Geo Group Inc (ICE)

Overall clean facility with access to more than enough reactional activities. While being housed here you have access to tablet computers, computerized commissary, TVs in the day room and alternating game/movie cart. Also you have access to the library with desktops and legal material everyday so long as you sign up. The rec yard is open to the unit 8 hours a day on 4 hour intervals, so all though the yard is small, you do get plenty of outside time.

You get 3 meals a day and all though they are nothing fancy, its also free and hot.

Access to medical is easy, with a nurse coming on the unit two times a day to do pill line. You can write a kite and can expect to be seen within a rough 24 hour period, all for free. Free dental as well.

The staff are overall professional, who will help when they are able to. You can tell they are often times over worked, with many seemingly working almost 13 hours a day, everyday. I do hear they are well paid though and many seem to try to remain positive.

Truly life is as you make it in the facility. You have access to cleaning supplies 16 hours a day when the day room is open, 3 hot meals, 8 hours of rec and plenty of recreational stuff to keep you busy. Not many places will let you have video games and tablets to call or text home any time of the day, plus you can watch movies on them which is pretty cool.

Not what people try to claim ICE being like, even more surprising given the fact its a private facility. Almost makes you wonder.
