Doing family history on another family and decided to look at another local family to see it there was anything. To my surprise a box had been deposited that holds 111 family photos, diplomas, newspaper clippings and three pages of family vital statistics. Awesome! Sadly only a couple photos have been digitally scanned. Called to find out more and staff was excellent and friendly. I'm saving up to go to Boulder for some research!
We recently moved to the Mapleton Hill area and wanted to learn more about our historic home over the hill. We decided to stop in one day while we were out walking through the neighborhood. The librarians on staff were excellent; she spent two hours pulling old files and pictures from the turn of the century for us. We discovered that our place was built in 1896 not 1906 like we were told, this was awesome news for us. It's not every day that you take a trip to a library and feel like you're stepping into the past with the squeaky floors and all the charm of this historic library, we will be coming back.
Thank you for all your help.
I have visited the Carnegie library twenty or thirty times over the last two years, and have found the staff to be very helpful and patient. The only complaints that I have would involve hours and parking, two things over which they have no control. It is an amazing resource.
I believe the other reviewer is confusing this listing (which is for the Carnegie History Branch) with the main branch of the Boulder Public Library.
