I was reluctant to write a review for K.I.T. because I don’t want them to get too busy for selfish reasons. But here we are. When I first heard of K.I.T. performance I was under the impression that they just dealt with high performance Subarus and the like, but that is not the case. I have experience with a couple of other shops in the area, some good, some not so good. We now bring all three of our cars to K.I.T. because we know that they will do the job correctly. Their attention to detail is really the thing that differentiates them from others. That, and the fact that they are a local (Erie) family owned and operated business. I had to take my truck in to another shop no less than five times for what should have been a very easy repair. I finally took it to K.I.T. who took the time to do it right, and it is working better than new. Their conscientiousness, communication and attention to detail make them my first choice when it comes to auto repair and maintenance.
Had a clutch replacement on my BRZ. Repair was quick and car is running smooth. The team is very accommodating. Recommend getting your work done with them.
At KIT Performance you don't go there for what you need, you go for what you want. If you understand that statement you're a certified car person and probably came across KIT Performance online because you're looking to customize you car. I'll save you some time and let you know you came to the right place!
My relationship with Rob at Kit Performance began when I brought my 2012 Camaro ZL1 to him for Air Lift 3 suspension. This didn't go without its fair amount of issues but what does in the customization world - right?
What matters to me is Rob does whatever it takes to make things right. For instance, I had an air bag pop within the first week of having my air suspension and Rob addressed those issues promptly. He could've easily told me it wasn't an issue with the install but with the product and wiped his hands of any responsibility. He didn't do that. I think this example shows who he is as a person and how he means it when he says he stands by his work. In the world of car customizing you need someone like him on your side!
I hope this paragraph of me rambling on helps you make up your mind to do business with KIT Performance. I can assure you that you own't be disappointed.
I bought a used STI and it had some mods that I didn't know much about. The car smelled really bad due to a vent to air catch can that was installed. I found Kit Performance and Rob told me to bring it in and he installed an AOS for me and corrected a few things that had been undone. He has helped me troubleshoot a vacuum leak and has answered all my questions. They have been great to work with and you can tell he has a passion for Subaru's. I look forward to continue to work with them in the future.
When it came time to rebuild and beef up the motor in my Outback XT, I met with 3 different Subaru performance shops and I'm beyond happy I went with KIT. Rob and Ann are phenomenal humans and a genuine pleasure to work with. They are patient, honest, and super hard working small family business owners. Rob's knowledge is incredible and he has been a tremendous help in making decisions with the build. He kept my goals top priority and found creative ways to stay in budget. The quality of his work is top notch and the engine has far exceeded my expectations. We ran into a bit of a hitch with a faulty part and Rob went above and beyond to promptly make it right which speaks volumes to his integrity and commitment to building quality engines for his customers. I have the highest confidence that Rob's engines are built to last.
